QLD Mentor Update December 2016

Last month!

What an exciting month we have had!

C17 Jump for Legacy.

Ever want to jump from a C17 Jet?

Well on the 19^th of November 2016 100 skydivers were lucky enough to get this opportunity. Through the hard work put in by Adam Williams, it has been quite some time since civilians skydivers able to do this. So it was planned and well organised for the plane to 4 passes over Rambles DZ at Toogoolawah and drop out 25 on each run.

I proceeded to organise a large chunk exit which ended up being an 8 way linked exit and 6 divers with video. The exit didn’t go as planned and we funnelled it off the ramp. We ended up only doing 1 point due to things beyond our control!

EOM Starcrests and Bigways

27^th & 28^th November 2016

WOW, What a great weekend! Two Starcrest jumps on Saturday before the wind came in and shortened out day and we opened the bar early, Sunday we started of with a 6 way to warm up before we did 3 more Starcrest jumps. Would like thank, Jon Kent​, Kerry Hook​, John Leach​, Holly Ahern​, Bart Edwards​ for helping as the experienced jumpers, without you guys these events are not possible. To our Starcresters, Matt Smith​ (1 attempt), Isaac Johnson​ (Completed), Adrian Seemann​ (Completed), Will Snelson​ (Completed). Also a big thanks to Dave David C Brown​ who did camera for us and put this awesome video together for us.

This event was made possible to the huge assistance given to us by the APF FI FUND, they are always there to help us. Also the Toogoolawah Skydivers Club Inc.

Canopy Coaching
We have myself, hot of the recent Train the Trainer course run by Jules McConnel at Byron running the following,
Canopy separation after opening & how to fit into the landing pattern,
One on one canopy coaching
End of the day landing debriefs
