WA Mentor Update May 2017

Resurgence of Flat – inside and out

April hasn’t seen too much happening as we all recovered from the Nationals at York, but April finished with a bang when  Ifly Perth hosted a 4 way scrambles event.  Ash Saunders coordinated the event and brought it all together.  Sunday 30th April saw 16 4-way teams come together to complete 6 rounds of 4-way and a figure 8 speed race to finish it off.

There was a wide range of experience amongst the participants which was spread reasonably evenly amongst the teams.  It was terrific to see jumpers who had just completed their certificate B and in one case had just finished their AFF.

Ifly Perth awarded medals to the top three teams.  Chris Jones’ team won gold, followed by Peter Waller’s team and Graeme White’s in third.  Congratulations to the medal winners but also to all the participants.  It was great to see the improvement of the teams as the evening progressed.

The plan is to build on the success of this event by taking it into the air.  The Screaming Eagles 4-way team are arranging a 4 Way for Everyone event at Skydive York on May 13 and Big-T 4-way team are planning a Big-T Mini Boogie in June using all local coaches.
