VIC Mentor update for Nagambie Feb 2019

VIC Mentor update for Nagambie Feb 2019
by

The start to 2019 at Skydive Nagambie has been hot and busy, …both weather wise,… and jumping!

Most recently, we had a great Australia Day weekend of formation skydiving, with a 4-way scrambles comp on the Saturday that saw five teams pitted against each other, using the Blast format.  The team coached by ‘yours truly’ along with Helena, Stu and Jarvo has come up trumps, winning that ever popular cardboard gold medal, and for the first time, the perpetual winner’s trophy, proudly displayed at the bar.

Most folks hung around for the Sunday, which meant we had two groups of 8 to 10-ways going all day, coached by Ben Allen and myself. Basic Bigway skills were once more on the agenda, with focus on approach, stop, picking up grips and flying level with the formation, and to top it all off,  2 to 3 point skydives were being completed throughout the day, finishing off with a nice combined 13-way.

The mix of flatties at Nagambie is one of those preparing to go to Perris, and some who unfortunately can-not go.  That said, it is great to see that the  bigway flying skills development for the regulars that come to the DZ is growing stronger every time.  There will be plenty of opportunity to keep honing those skills between now and the Perris event, and share the experience among everyone.  So keep looking out for monthly star crest/bigway weekends, and “Fall Fest” at Easter, ..more on that in a separate Mail-out!

And who knows, if any of you who are currently not going to Perris might change your mind, and think you can go after all, please speak to any of our bigway mentors or coaches,… now is the time to let us know, and hopefully get you  booked in on the journey!

Blue Skies,

Christian
