Captains Call February 2018
by Greg Jack
Hi everyone and welcome to February’s edition of our Newsletter, the first edition for 2018.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year with friends and family and are ready for all of the different challenges that will come in the year ahead.
Last year proved to be very successful with many of the events organised and conducted by your Aussiebigways Team. It was a steep learning curve for some participants, challenging or just enjoyable for others. For us, your organisers – we had a great time but made some mistakes along the way too and we try to learn from them as best we can!
That said, this is our last full year of preparation before May 2019 – which seems to have come around so quickly indeed!
As stated in the last Newsletter, the tempo of Aussie Bigway Events has been reduced significantly to allow people to prepare for and compete at the APF Nationals being held in March, then things will pick up again building towards the last Major Event being held in Australia prior to May 2019, and that is the Larry Henderson’s National Event commencing at the end of September this year.
In parallel with the increased tempo of Aussie Bigways activity post the APF Nationals, we will also continue to raise the performance bar incrementally for participants as we move closer to both Larry’s Event in September this year and to our National Event at Perris in May 2019.
It is very important that participants are aware of this and if required prepare themselves accordingly, talk to your coaches, attend organised events, get in the tunnel, get on star crest loads – do whatever you need to do, even get to Perris prior to May 2019 and attend a P3 Event BUT all of us who are intending to be a part of our National Record Event in May 2019 have a personal responsibility to improve and maintain our own personal big ways experience.
If you feel you need extra help there are a number of pathways you can take to gain this experience but self-help is a key ingredient to the solution.
I hope like me, you are soooooooooooooooooooooooo looking forward May 2019 – the journey is much shorter now.
Also please remember – if you have yet to register your interest in [potentially] attending our Event in May 2019 at Perris Valley, California, U.S.A. please do so by sending me an e-mail at gregorykjack@gmail.com please
Welcome to 2018 and Jump safe.
Blue Ones,
Greg
