VIC Mentor Update September 2017

August came to a fantastic conclusion at Skydive Nagambie, celebrating the arrival of their new, permanent Cessna Supervan 900 with a three-day jumping weekend, giving everyone as much time as possible to enjoy this awesome, fast aircraft. This also heralded the first Star Crest/Bigway day for this season out of the new aircraft, and a large number of willing participants got involved. It was once again Tom Fletcher’s turn to organise, and some very challenging formations were made and completed. The standard throughout the day was generally high, everyone was flying well and there were smiles all round.

The next Star Crest/Bigway day will be the 23rd of September, with Drew Whitworth returning to lead the day. This will be followed by the hugely popular FS 4way Scrambles (always judged at the bar, with those fantastic home-made medals up for grabs!) on Saturday the 21st of October, with Star Crests backing it up the next day on Sunday the 22nd of October. And while you are marking dates for your calendar, don’t forget to register for the Aussie Bigways Advanced Oz/Bigway skills camp on 28th and 29th October with Dave Loncasty and Tracey Basman. An opportunity to build challenging formations for those who are up for it, or to learn and polish up the basic bigway skills.  There are still some slots left, so it is essential to register with the Skydive Nagambie office and book your slot, before they all go!

Blue skies,
